Are Phone Calls an Endangered Species?

Wired’s Clive Thompson argued the case that “cultural transition” was killing off the traditional phone call, replaced with with text messages, instant messaging and social networks.

[GF - For the record: I do not think that they are. Generational factors aside, it is still nice to chat with someone, and hear their voice. Telephone calls will always be here. The volume and context may change radically, however.]
