Hire for functional expertise, but look for individuals with potential to grow beyond their current role.
Hire smart, grounded individuals - they bring tremendous knowledge to the table, but aren't afraid to ask questions – egos get checked at the door.
Fit is everything – at the end of the day it is a combination of culture and talent – like fitting a puzzle together.
Have them treat their role as if it was their own business – individuals that take ownership of their role and demonstrate intelligence, leadership and growth - these are the ones that will grow into other roles and move you forward.
